Special Congratulations to Donna Lewis, MHFOC Member, whose work was selected for the PMC Guild's 2009 "Annual" - a full-color book that showcases exceptional PMC work by Guild members over the past year. We can't wait to see Donna's work in print! Way to go, Donna!

In April, Jay Humphreys came to teach a class for us on her proprietary Metal Clay Veneer product that keeps PMC flexible, even after firing! The class was well-attended and the students came away with some really interesting and unique jewelry items.

In June, we were privileged to host a reception for acclaimed metal clay artist, Kate McKinnon, at the Fire and Friends Z Art Studio here in Peoria, AZ. What a special night that was!

We all enjoyed some excellent refreshments, provided by the members, while we chatted with Kate and admired her stunning calendars, copies of which she so generously gave to each of us, and her books and metal clay pieces, which were available for purchase. Afterward, Kate performed a demonstration of some of her own unique and very clever metal clay techniques, which drew rapt attention from the assembled MC artists.

On Saturday and Sunday, Kate held a workshop at the studio, where students created outstanding works in metal clay, using invaluable techniques taught to them by "The Queen of Working Clean" herself.

We all enjoyed Kate's visit so much that we asked her to come back and, to our great delight and amazement, she agreed! The exact dates are still to be worked out but February, 2010 was mentioned. Keep your eyes on the calendar!
