PMC Paste Leaves
PMC Paste Leaves

Every quarter our Chapter holds a competition. A number of people entered pieces and everyone voted for their favorite. There was a tie, and even the tie breaker was a tie, so two pieces will share the spotlight this quarter. Pieces chosen were a lovely pendant with a pearl and dangles by Sandy Shiver, and a small white container with PMC leaves by Margaret Hardman-Muye.

Pearl and Sea Shells
by Sandy Shiver

"Over the last 35 years I have worked in arts and crafts that were very structured - ceramics, stained glass and various needlework genres. The last four years I've moved from beadwork to PMC and dichroic glass. The freedom of creativity that this little lump of clay gives is enthralling. Being able to capture pieces of your environment and bring them into a design is so fulfilling. I look forward to many more years of ideas coming to fruition through PMC."

PMC Paste Leaves on Porcelain Container
by Margaret Hardman-Muye

"My jewelry reflects my love of nature and the many textures found in natural objects. This small container is a result of a phase where all I did was paint PMC paste on leaves. I love cutting cabochons. I became a silversmith and PMC Artisan (2003) to show off these stones. I have won numerous Best-in-Show awards at local gem shows for my stones, fabricated and PMC jewelry. I teach classes at the HGMS & Houston Museum of Natural Science."
