About This Chapter

When metal clay first made its way to Western Pennsylvania and nearby areas of Ohio and West Virginia, resources for the medium were few and far between. As time went on, things did improve, but there just wasn't a sufficient amount of activity to satisfy some fans of the various metal clays.

In April of 2008, three PMC enthusiasts came together and decided to create a group of folks who want to educate and inspire one another. We spread the word, and held our first meeting in May of that year. And we've been holding events just about every month since! All who wish to partake in the fun are more than welcome to join us.

The Western PA PMC Guild aims to:

  • Provide resources to metal clay artists at all levels.
  • Offer networking opportunities to metal clay enthusiasts.
  • Develop new ideas and techniques.
  • Encourage and inspire both beginners and advanced artists.
  • Promote metal clay in the greater Western PA area.

Meetings are planned to benefit everyone, from beginners to experts. You need not have attended a class in order to become a member of the group. Regular members support the group collaboratively (via time, money, or material, as they are able), but newcomers are invited to try a meeting out for free--simply contact us to ensure we'll have a seat ready for you!

Our meeting schedule is posted publicly at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MetalClayWesternPA/

For other questions, our group's email, at wpapmc@gmail.com, is monitored by several members on an informal basis.
